Monumental Occasion!

Ethan slept almost 9 hours straight last night!!!!! I'm sure it was a fluke, but it was awesome!!

Each Others Favorite!!

I am happy to say that my little ones absolutely adore each other! Ella always wants to hold Ethan. She worries about him when he cries and reassures him when I leave the room. She tells him how cute he is and how much she loves him at least once or twice a day. At the same time, Ethan is always eager to capture Ella's attention so he can give her big smiles. He also LOVES to give her slimy kisses.


Ethan will be 5 months on Tuesday!! Time is flying.....

Are you smarter than Ella?

I decided I better document this story, cause knowing me, I won't remember it in another month, and it is just too good to forget. It may be a little hard to write, but I'm gonna give it a whirl.
So upfront, you should know, for the story's sake and because it exemplifies her smarts, she says "stup" instead of "stupid" because she knows she will get in trouble if she finishes the word.

So one morning while visiting Utah, I had planned to take Ella to the "boys" house (her second cousins and good friends). I called their mom to confirm. Ella was sitting up to her morning waffle with uncharacteristic resistance. When I hung up, the conversation went as follows:
Ella: "Mom, what did Amy say?"
Me: "She said you need to eat your waffle before you can go over to their house?"
Ella (very suspiciously): "She said I need to eat my waffle????
Me: "Yep"
Ella (even more suspiciously): How does she know I have a waffle?"

Busted.

So later on that day, I was telling my Granny the story while Ella was sitting on her lap. I got to the end and started talking more quitely, as to avoid her hearing me describe my reaction to her question. I said: "so she totally busted me" and Ella looked up at Granny and said: "Yah Granny, I totally busted her, she thinks I'm stup."

Can you believe that? What does my future hold raising this child?? Maybe I've got a lawyer on my hands. Repeating my lie so she could trap me in it...you can't teach those kind of skills!

Ethan 3 months

Ethan is shaping up to be a very physically advanced baby. Besides his size (unofficial weigh-in is 17.3 lbs), he surprised and impressed us by rolling over from his back to his tummy (the hard one) on 3 separate occasions this past weekend. Let's hope he isn't walking at 6 months!!

First day of Preschool

2 1/2 months

Ethan is only 2 and a half months, yet he acts soooo much older!! He is already scooting, he can do a full sit up and he is just sooo alert. He seems to keep tabs on me no matter where I am. He is a very sweet baby! He is very smiley, even when he is really tired and whiney, he will still give the cutest smiles, then start complaining again.
He is also sleeping worlds better than Ella did the first two years of her life. He sleeps about 6 hours at night and takes a good 3+ hour nap in the day.
We are enjoying him sooo much. I just wish they wouldn't grow so fast, I feel like I've already lost my newborn.
